長年にわたり外国人への茶の湯指導や、日本人への茶の湯解説方法、文化と思想の違いなどの指導に尽力されてきたブルース濱名宗整氏と、各大陸にて茶の湯の普及に尽力されている席主をつなぐリレー形式の茶会をオンライン開催いたします。
各席主の想いの詰まった取合せをお愉しみいただいたのち、後半は5名の席主による座談会をご覧いただき、茶道海外普及の今とこれからを考えます。

[July 23 Online Chakai]Connecting the Five Continents of the World:Tea Gathering Welcoming Guests in English
During the COVID crisis when we are cut off from our normal chanoyu activities, we hope you join with people overseas through this unique online chakai.
Tankosha is sponsoring an online relay tea gathering with Bruce Hamana Sosei, who has been working for many years sharing chanoyu to foreigners, teaching Japanese speakers how to explain about chanoyu in English, and discussing the differences in culture and thinking. He will be joined by four hosts, who are working to spreading chanoyu in their continent, and will be linked to them as they each host a tea venue for this special event.
After enjoying tea prepared by each host using utensils embodying their hospitality and representing the uniqueness of their region, in the second half of the event, the participants will view a round-table discussion with the five hosts talking about the present and future of chanoyu activities abroad.
We hope you will join us in participating in the first Tankosha International Online Chakai tea gathering from the comfort of your home.

茶会参加者の皆様へ、ブルース濱名宗整氏監修、東福窯2代目 中村源水作の記念銘々皿（5枚組）を特別販売いたします。
陰陽五行説の木火土金水と対応する5色をモチーフとしたデザインです。

Special commemorative plates (set of 5) designed by Hamana Sosei and executed by Gensui Nakamura, the second generation of Tofuku kiln, are available only to participants of the Online Chakai. The design is based on the motif of the five colors in the theory of Yin/Yang and the Five Elements.

About the Live Stream

• We are planning to broadcast the Relay Chakai Tea Gathering on the "Tanko Culture Web" site. The details of how to watch will be announced to those who have applied.
• The archived video will be available for viewing for 30 days to all participants on the "Tanko Culture Web" site.
• There will be no privacy information such as the names and faces of the participants on the streaming screen.
• You will need a computer, tablet, or smartphone to view the program, and you will be responsible for all communication costs. In order to view the video more clearly, we recommend using a computer. Please note that if you use a tablet or smartphone outside of a wifi environment, you may incur high communication costs.
• Although we will take all possible measures to ensure the clear broadcasting of the event, there may be delays or disruptions in the video and audio due to the network environment on the day of the event. 【席主紹介】
ブルース濱名宗整
1951年、米国・ハワイ州生まれ。
ハワイ大学卒業後、裏千家学園茶道専門学校外国人研修コースおよび茶道科で裏千家茶道を学ぶ。
1986年、今日庵外事部に入庵し、英字季刊誌『裏千家ニューズレター』の編集や海外行事の企画・運営に携わるなど、裏千家茶道の海外普及に尽力。
現在は同専門学校外国人研修コース講師、裏千家国際セミナー講師などを務める。
